The Heisman Trophy winner awaits the nation’s spotlight this Saturday night. That’s right, it’s time for some college football.

FOX’s Paul Mora has this week’s “FOX College Football Spotlight”:

Leading into these first official games of the year, first year Texas head coach Tom Herman made a bold declaration:

(Herman) “If I don’t lead Texas to a national championship I don’t deserve to be a head coach in this country.”

We’ll see if Herman lives up to his billing. Texas has struggled to a 38-35 record over the last four seasons, and if Herman hopes to see his name up there among the nation’s best – he’ll have to do it in the friendly confines of burnt orange.

Another one getting the nation’s eyes on Saturday night will be Wisconsin. They’ve assembled an undefeated quarterback in Alex Hornibrook.

The Badgers’ defense has had some success stopping running back Saquon Barkley in his first two seasons in college. But this is his third year under center and the potential final shot at the Heisman.

Next up is Notre Dame and their All-American defensive lineman, Jerry Tillery. He’ll be locking down Florida running back Lamical Perine.

Finally, West Virginia has the nation’s hottest offense. A lot of that is owed to their run-heavy attack. Last year, West Virginia pounded out over 1,000 yards rushing as a team. But as we know, all too well in the Big 12 – that offense does not translate to success every week.

It’s time for “FOX College Football Spotlight.”
