Who Qualified in 2018?
The current World Cup qualification system is relatively generous. It allows for the possibility of a qualifying tournament being divided up into two separate stages.
In the first stage, teams are seeded into pots so that every team has a chance of entering the competition in pot one. Every two-team group stage is played and teams face each other once, with the top two progressing to the second stage.
