Nick Castellanos Saved Phillies With Catch in Game 1

It was almost too perfect. Then the Phillies’ bullpen turned it into an absolute rout.

After four scoreless innings in Game 1 of this NLCS clincher, and a lead that had climbed back to 2-0, Nick Castellanos gave up a walk to the second-to-last batter he faced, and the Phillies won 4-2 Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park.

In the ninth, Castelanos retired the side without issue, then retired the side again in the 10th in order to close out the fourth game of this one-game series.

Castellanos wasn’t the only member of the Philadelphia bullpen that pitched well. He was joined by the team’s ace, Cole Hamels, who was in the sixth inning and retired the side in order.
